Our Story, Our Global Community

With a home base in Baja California Sur, Mexico, Teatro Pescadero is devoted to creating unique experiences at home for our community, as well as crafting theatrical experiences from thin air around the world, breaking down barriers to artistry, letting stories resonate across cultures in intimate ways.

Our Community

Community Engagement

Teatro Pescadero is deeply committed to community engagement. Through our "Poetry for the Pantry” initiative, we gathered audience donations of hygiene and pantry staples for Grupo Madre Teresa to support local families in need.

We expanded these efforts during Todos Santos Newsfeed: The Musical, helping local volunteer firefighters achieve their goal of purchasing a much needed water truck. All on-site performances in BCS work in tandem with Alianza Cero Barura to ensure proper recycling and waste reduction.

By blending art with action, we use theater to uplift and address the needs of our community directly.

Educational Offerings

Acting Up is Teatro Pescadero’s Education initiative. We believe in the power of play with a camp for local children full of spontaneous songs, kickball games, costume changes, delicious meals, cartoon sketching, offering the space to express and discover their feelings.

Our education philosophy is based on John Dewey and experiential learning. We hold the belief that finding one's own voice and feeling comfortable in one's own body will serve students well no matter what direction they choose to pursue in life.

The Prophet Abroad

This unique and immersive performance brings to life Kahlil Gibran’s words, exploring the universal themes of love, freedom, marriage, and death. While this piece started in a dome under the stars in the Baja Deserts, it has since been performed over 200 times around the world from underground caves and castle towers to luxury villas and cosmopolitan hotels, only requiring two actors and an audience with open hearts.
